Steel Tubes
Tubes are mounted into a sleeve cup on the slab and attached to the steel joists at the top. This allows for the grille/closure to be installed first before any walls are built eliminating the difficulty of working around studs, HVAC and plumbing. Tubes can be bought from Dynamic Closures or acquired locally saving shipping costs.
Telescopic Aluminum Tubes
Custom extruded 2 1/2 in. x 3 in. aluminum tubes have within them a steel channel to be extended out to meet the deck above. Simple loosening and tightening of bolts allows the steel channel to slide into position.
NOTE: Maximum extension is 8ft. above opening.
Pre-installed brackets offer a choice of mounting options.
Steel Angles
“E” And “Z” Mounting
When the jamb is capped with steel the angle will face toward the opening, this is known as a E – Mount. When the jamb is wood or block the angle faces away from the opening, this is known as a Z – Mount.

The guides are fastened to the aluminum angle using #10×3/4″ screws which are not visible on opposite sides of angles, resulting in a nice, clean finish.
